Prenatal Fitness classes in East Boca:

   I Prenatal Body Conditioning and Toning class:

This low impact Prenatal body conditioning & toning class combines strength training and toning exercises using the stability ball, bands, light weights, and the mom's own body weight. While implementing a full body workout, you will be incorporating pregnancy specific exercises to help you stretch and strengthen your body to enable a more comfortable and enjoyable pregnancy, a shorter labor, as well as  a quicker post-partum recovery.

This class is designed for all fitness levels, and all stages of pregnancy. It may be implemented right up to birth provided your doctor is ok with you participating in this class.

What you should do before your first prenatal fitness class:

  • You must obtain a written consent from your OB allowing you to exercise.

  • You should also check with your doctor at each trimester if it is ok to continue to exercise.

  • You should eat a nutritious snack of complex carbohydrates (fruit, bread, crackers, cereal, baked potato, pasta, etc.) one to two hours before your session to maintain healthy blood sugar levels during exercise. High fat, high protein, and high-refined sugar products should be avoided within two hours before your workout.

  • You should dress comfortably and wear light cotton clothes. Dress in layers. Shorts, T-shirts, workout pants, and a supportive sports bra. -No shoes are required.

  • Have a towel, a small snack, and water close-by to keep you hydrated. If you suffer from asthma, and you are authorized to use your inhaler, have it at hand during the class.

This class is held every Monday evening from 5:45pm-6:45pm at the Amazingbirths studio in East Boca.

II Mom & Baby Fitness Class:

This class is for women that have just had their baby and are ready to get out of the house and make new friends or meet-up with old ones who are also new moms, 6 weeks - crawling. In this 60-minute mommy & me class, new moms will ease their way back into fitness, by incorporating strength training, toning and flexibility exercises, which will help new moms regain strength & stamina, boost their metabolism and mood, and at the same time trim their waistline. Primary focus in this class is on strengthening and stretching areas that were used during childbirth, as well as postural and core strengthening exercises.

Light weights, balls, bands and your own body weight will be used in this class. (Babies are welcome up to crawling age either on blankets, or in car seats or if you feel ready and you wish to use your baby as extra resistance, you may bring your baby front carrier/or baby sling and use it during class with your baby).

-If you need to care or nurse your baby anytime during class feel free to do so. Make sure you have had a light snack before coming to class, bring water, a towel and be prepared for an exhilarating workout. (Please come 5-10 minutes before class if your baby will be in a sling during the workout so that you have enough time to put it on) Beginner to Intermediate level.
