Prenatal Fitness classes in East Boca:

Starting in December Prenatal Fitness & Beyond will be moving its classes to the Amazing births studio in East Boca.

Prenatal Body Conditioning and Toning class:

This low impact Prenatal body conditioning & toning class combines strength training and toning exercises using the stability ball, bands, light weights, and the mom's own body weight. While implementing a full body workout, you will be incorporating pregnancy specific exercises to help you stretch and strengthen your body to enable a more comfortable and enjoyable pregnancy, a shorter labor, as well as  a quicker post-partum recovery.

This class is designed for all fitness levels, and all stages of pregnancy. It may be implemented right up to birth provided your doctor is ok with you participating in this class.

What you should do before your first class:

  • You must obtain a written consent from your OB allowing you to exercise.

  • You should also check with your doctor at each trimester if it is ok to continue to exercise.

  • You should eat a nutritious snack of complex carbohydrates (fruit, bread, crackers, cereal, baked potato, pasta, etc.) one to two hours before your session to maintain healthy blood sugar levels during exercise. High fat, high protein, and high-refined sugar products should be avoided within two hours before your workout.

  • You should dress comfortably and wear light cotton clothes. Dress in layers. Shorts, T-shirts, workout pants, and a supportive sports bra. -No shoes are required.

  • Have a towel, a small snack, and water close-by to keep you hydrated. If you suffer from asthma, and you are authorized to use your inhaler, have it at hand during the class.

Classes are every Thursday, starting December 4th, 2008 from 9:30am to 10:45am.
